Garage Door Weather Stripping Installation
New bottom seals, side and top stripping, and threshold seals that keep out Ontario winters, rain, snow and pests.
Ontario winters are hard on garage doors. The rubber bottom seal goes brittle, cracks and stops meeting the floor, and suddenly you have a garage full of cold air, blowing snow, road salt and the occasional mouse.
Replacing weather stripping is one of the cheapest upgrades you can make to a garage — and if your garage is attached, it directly affects how much you spend heating the rooms above and beside it. We fit fresh seals to the bottom, sides and top of the door so it closes tight against the frame again.
Signs your weather stripping needs replacing
- Daylight visible around the edges of a closed door
- Snow, leaves or rainwater blowing under the door
- A cracked, flattened or torn rubber bottom seal
- The garage is noticeably colder than it used to be
- Mice, insects or other pests getting in
- Rattling or whistling when the wind picks up
What the service covers
- Bottom rubber seal (astragal) replacement, sized to your door
- Side and top perimeter weather stripping installation
- Garage floor threshold seals for uneven or sloped floors
- Retainer track replacement where the old one is bent or rusted
- Insulated door and panel seal upgrades
- Full check of door alignment so the new seal actually seats flat

Weather Stripping Installation — FAQs
How often should garage door weather stripping be replaced?
In the Ontario climate, plan on every 3 to 5 years for the bottom seal. Freeze-thaw cycles and road salt break rubber down faster here than in milder regions.
Will new weather stripping make my garage warmer?
It makes a real difference, especially on an attached garage. Sealing the perimeter stops the constant draft, which also helps the rooms sharing a wall or floor with the garage.
My door does not close flat on one side. Will a new seal fix it?
Not on its own. If the door sits crooked, the seal will only compress on one edge. We check and correct door balance and alignment as part of the job so the new stripping seats evenly.
