Garage Door Opener Repair & Installation
Repairs and new installs for chain, belt, screw and smart Wi-Fi openers — LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman and more.
When the opener quits, the whole door becomes a two-handed manual job. Most opener problems come down to a handful of causes: a stripped drive gear, a failed logic board, a burnt-out capacitor, worn limit switches or a motor that has simply reached the end of a long life.
We diagnose the actual fault instead of selling you a new unit by default. If the repair is worth doing we do it; if your opener is 15 years old and parts cost more than a modern replacement, we tell you that too — and install a quieter belt-drive or smart Wi-Fi unit that you can open from your phone.
Signs your opener needs attention
- The motor hums or runs but the door does not move
- The door opens partway and reverses
- The wall button works but the remote does not
- Grinding noise from the opener head — usually a stripped gear
- The opener runs intermittently or trips the breaker
- The unit is loud enough to wake the room above the garage
What the service covers
- Full diagnostic of motor, logic board, capacitor and limit switches
- Drive gear, sprocket, chain, belt and trolley replacement
- Limit and force setting recalibration
- New opener supply and installation — chain, belt and smart Wi-Fi models
- Battery backup unit installation so the door works in a power outage
- Rail, mounting bracket and safety reverse testing after every job

Opener Repair & Installation — FAQs
Is it worth repairing an old garage door opener?
If the unit is under about 10 years old and the fault is a gear, sprocket, capacitor or sensor, repair is almost always the better value. Past 15 years, parts get scarce and a new belt-drive opener is quieter, safer and often the cheaper option overall.
Which opener is best for a garage under a bedroom?
A belt-drive opener. It runs on a reinforced rubber belt instead of a metal chain, which cuts the noise and vibration dramatically. It is the model we recommend most often for attached garages.
Can you install a smart opener I can control from my phone?
Yes. We install Wi-Fi enabled openers that work with smartphone apps so you can open, close and check the door status from anywhere, and get an alert if it is left open.
My opener works but the door is heavy and slow. Is the opener the problem?
Usually not. That is normally a spring or balance issue, and running the opener against an unbalanced door is what burns the motor out. We check door balance first before condemning an opener.
